After the success of the first and second Weaver Hills Fell Race in 2021 & 2022, we're excited for participants to return and tackle this traditional fell race for the third year!

You'll be exploring a beautiful but lesser known part of StaffordshireBased from Shawcroft Farm at Wootton thanks to Henry and the team at Daltons Dairy, this short but perfectly formed race is certainly going to be an exhilarating Friday night out!

From the farm you'll head out on gently rising tracks before choosing your best route up the steep climb to the trig point. You'll then enjoy a fast descent all the way to the finish!

UPDATE (JUNE 2023): The Junior U15/17 race will be merged with the Senior Race for 2023.

Fell Running Rules and Safety

The race will operate under the Fell Running Association's Rules for Competition and participants must comply with the "Runner's Rules".

Participants are required to wear shoes suitable for fell running, and should arrive at the race with the 'FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit' and be prepared to wear or carry it during the race. Depending on the weather conditions on the night we may relax some or all of these requirements:

  • Waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and integrated attached hood),

  • Hat

  • Gloves

  • Map of the route

  • Compass

  • Whistle

  • Emergency food.

Other useful FRA safety information includes the "First on Scene" and "Hypothermia" leaflets, although we obviously hope not to need these on the day.

More information about the Fell Running Association (FRA), including how to join, is available HERE. Membership is just £16 per year and includes lots of benefits.
