bRUNch Club - FIFTH THURSDAY SPECIAL

As per our tradition when there are five Thursday's in the month, this week's bRUNch Club is a 'special' event at a venue that is different to our normal circuit. And we're delighted that this one will be extra special!

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust have invited us to join them at Allestree Park in Derby, which, as well as being a beautiful setting anyway, is home to a community rewilding project - the largest of its type in the UK.

What's more, with the help of their Wellbeing Officer, Kirsty, we'll be incorporating some 'nature connection' activities into our run/rike.

And afterwards we'll be relaxing in the park and learning more about the work there over some refreshments. With offerings of home made baking etc. that participants would like to bring being more than welcome :-) )

As always, these sessions are as much about the mind as the body. They are a perfect way to de-stress and connect with nature in some beautiful green spaces, amongst a friendly and supportive group.

Wayfarer

Eryri Far and a Wayfarer Wayfarer Hike - The Carneddau

Join us on the minibus for an epic day out in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia)

Join us on this exciting day trip to climb some of the highest mountains in Wales.

We'll be travelling by minibus from the Derby area (with possible pick-ups en-route) to Bethesda to enjoy a spectacular hike in the Carneddau range, the largest upland area in the UK outside of Scotland. And one our most favourite areas.

Our aim is to tackle at least 4 of the Welsh 3000ft summits on a high level circuit which explores this relatively quiet part of the National Park, and has breathtaking views of both mountains and coastline.

The nature of the area means that there will be some strenuous climbs, steep gradients and challenging underfoot conditions. But our objective is to appreciate the beauty of this spectacular area, and send you home with a memorable experience and - hopefully - increased confidence for future adventures.

Along the way our experienced Mountain Leaders will be sharing lots of knowledge and tips, and teaching you new skills for exploring the hills and mountains - whether you're a pure hiker or aspiring mountain/fell runner.

As with any trip to the mountains, our ability to do the exact route may be influenced by the weather conditions on the day.

If you have any questions before signing up, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Our email address is info@peakrunning.co.uk

Distance = 14-miles with approximately 4,200ft of elevation.

£47

Includes transport from/to the Derby area.

Weekend

Lake District Weekend of Adventure

Join us for a weekend of hiking adventures in the Lake District National Park

Join us on this exciting weekend of adventures in the spectacular mountains of the Lake District.

We'll be travelling up to our base in Langdale on the Friday evening (10th October) to make the most of the weekend, with two days of activities on the Saturday and Sunday. Returning home in the late afternoon on Sunday.

The trip includes:
- Two days of fully guided hiking adventures with our experienced team of qualified Mountain Leaders.
- Travel by mini-bus from the Derby area (possible pick-up points en-route)
- 2-nights accommodation in private dormitories in a comfortable hostel.

As participant numbers are limited to 12, the exact itinerary will be influenced by the desires of the group. However, we hope to include:
- An ascent of Helvellyn - one of only 4 mountains over 3000 feet high in England.
- Two or more of the Wainwright summits in Langdale - an area described by Wainwright himself as "one of the loveliest in Lakeland".

While the nature of the area means that there will be some strenuous climbs, steep gradients and challenging underfoot conditions, we're not out to just bag as many summits as possible.

Our objective is to immerse you in the beauty of this truly spectacular area, show you some lesser known gems and send you home with a wealth of memorable experiences and - hopefully - increased confidence for future adventures.

Along the way and during our evening downtime we'll be sharing lots of knowledge and tips, and teaching you new skills for exploring the hills and mountains - whether you're a pure hiker or aspiring mountain/fell runner.
