The Winter Bash is a winter version of our popular summer race, Brooksie's Bash 10-Mile Trail Race.

The race will mostly use the same trails around the wonderful South Derbyshire countryside as its summer counterpart. But, as well as going in the opposite direction (clockwise), there will be the added challenge of runners navigating their own way around the course, which will be un-marked.

One of our objectives for the race is to encourage less experienced trail runners to have a go at a 'self-navigation' event. We will therefore provide you with a clear map and written directions, as well as making a gpx file available for those who like to use technology. In addition, we will be offering a guided option for those nervous about getting lost.

So, if you haven't taken part in an self-navigation event before, it is a great opportunity to come and have a go in a friendly and supportive environment. You will need suitable kit for the conditions though, including (as a minimum) the mandatory items specified below).

The race, which will operate under UK Athletics Rules, is open to runners aged 17 and above on the day of the race.  Dogs are not permitted.
