Fell Running Rules and Safety
The race will operate under the Fell Running Association's Rules for Competition and participants must comply with the "Runner's Rules".

The route is fixed (i.e. no individual route choice on the moors) will be partially marked to avoid runners venturing into out of bounds areas, particularly in designated SSSIs (Sites of Special Scientific Interest).

Participants are required to wear shoes suitable for fell running, and should arrive at the race with the 'FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit' and be prepared to wear or carry it during the race. Depending on the weather conditions on the night we may relax some or all of these requirements:
-
Waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and integrated attached hood),
-
Hat
-
Gloves
-
Map of the route
-
Compass
-
Whistle
-
Emergency food.

Other useful FRA safety information includes the "First on Scene" and "Hypothermia" leaflets, although we obviously hope not to need these on the day.

More information about the Fell Running Association (FRA), including how to join, is available HERE. Membership is just £16 per year and includes lots of benefits.
COVID-19: Additional rules and requirements relating to covid-19 may be applied, depending on the situation and government restrictions at the time of the race. This may include a staggered or rolling start format to enable social distancing to be maintained.
