About the event

Meeting in Cannock at 9:15am ready for a 9:30am. Meeting location will be sent in confirmation email after booking.

Join Debs aka SHORTY for a Wayfarer HIKE, starting with a gradual climb heading towards our first trig point, at the popular landmark the Glacial Boulder... we'll discover the mystery of how this big rock got there!

As we head out to our second trig point of the hike, remember to look out for the fallow and red deer roaming the heathland. We'll reach Broc Hill and the Millenium sundial, where there are great panoramic views and - weather permitting - we'll see as far as The Wrekin which is over 20 miles away.

Over the Stepping Stones, crossing the stream and we make a gradual climb through Abraham’s Valley, with more great views in what was originally a royal hunting forest. By mile 8 we will have reached our second trig point and yep you’ve guessed it, more cracking views!  We are now at the highest point of our HIKE. Big smiles for a group photo before we move on through the forest and join the Heart of England Way, heading back to our cars.

Expect to cover around 10 miles in 4 - 5 hours, with 1300ft of elevation.

Kit requirements - Please note that you'll need to bring the below with you in order to take part in this event;
