About the event
This is a Bank Holiday special Trail Therapy event based at Whistlewood Common, near Melbourne.Â
As well as an opportunity to take part in one of our #TrailTherapy jogs or walks on the wonderful local trails, there is a whole host of other things happening.
10:30 to 12:00 TRAIL THERAPY JOG OR WALK
Join our leaders for either a 5-mile jog or 3-mile walk exploring the local countryside.
Our #trailtherapy runs and walks are guided by our friendly and supportive team of leaders. We set a pace that is comfortable for everyone as the activities are more about enjoying the surroundings and the benefits to mental wellbeing than having a hard workout. Nobody ever gets left behind.
12:00 to 14:00 LUNCH & LISTEN
We have a number of speakers lined up, including:
- Ian Currie, an experienced local bee keeper with loads of interesting facts about bees.
- Zoe Sewter from the National Forest Company, telling us all about her work with the National Forest
- Andy Brooks, founder of Peak Running, taking about how he has enjoyed exploring the National Forest as it has developed over the past 25 years, and giving lots of top tips on where to go and how to get the most from it.Â
During lunch our friend and star baker, Katie O'Donoghue, will also be there selling tasty home made food and delicious cakes. Please bring your own mug and a bowl if you would like hot food.
14:00 to 16:30 OTHER ACTIVITIES Â Â
After lunch there will be a choice of other activities that you have the option to join, including:
- A discovery walk with Andy Brooks, with tips on planning routes and map reading.Â
- Yoga with Dani.
The event is FREE* but you are welcome to make a small donation to help us help more people in the community gain the benefits of trail therapy.  Enter £0 for your free place below or the amount you wish to donate. The price of a coffee (say £3.50) really helps us but please only what YOU can afford.
*The hot food and cakes will be for sale (CASH ONLY) at a modest cost, to enable Katie to cover her costs. Â
Please note that NO DOGS are allowed at this event due to the rules set by the venue to protect their nature projects on site.
