We'll meet in Duffield from 18:15 ready for a prompt 18:30 start. Exact meeting location will be included in your confirmation email. 

This course is aimed at people who would like to navigate in the dark and / or in poor weather conditions but may not have had the opportunity or the confidence to practicie doing so.

During the evening you will learn basic map and compass skills, learn how to navigate using the features around you, develop strategies for how to cope when caught in bad weather, relocation techniques if you get lost and other navigation skills to give you the confidence to venture out on your own safely in the dark.

This will be a fun and engaging evening rounded up with a debrief in the pub! We hope to see you there!

Recommended kit for this session: 

• Hiking Boots / trail shoes
• Gaiters (Optional)
• Walking trousers / leggings
• Waterproof Trousers
• Warm Layer
• Waterproof Jacket
• Hat
• Gloves
• Headtorch / chest-torch / hand-held torch (essential - it will be dark!) 
• Rucksack / Running vest (for carrying items not being worn)
• Walking/Running Poles (if required) 
• Snacks / drink
• Compass (if owned)
• Map (will be provided by Matt)

Please note: We love dogs, but this session is not suitable for our four-legged friends.
